Artists in the Schools

Artists in the schoolsSponsored by Learn Quebec

For the first time in the festival’s nine-year history, the Montreal Folk Festival on the Canal is proud to be bringing artists into Montreal schools to promote appreciation and knowledge of music and the arts.

In-school presentations by artists during the week of the festival—June 13-17—will offer students an enriched look at various aspects of music. Presentations will include singing, musical demonstrations and performance and instruction on the history of music.

Through these presentations, the Artists in the Schools program will offer learning through music, and work to expand the knowledge, experience and self-esteem of students in the Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal.
