Opening Gala – Exclusive evening with folk legend Peter Yarrow (Peter Paul and Mary)

  • Jun 14

    Starts: June 14, 2012 @ 8:00 pm

Place: Centre Culturel Georges Vanier, 2450, rue Workman, Montreal, Québec, H3J 1L8

Known for his songwriting, sound quality and commitment to excellence, Peter Yarrow, along with Noel Paul Stookey and Mary Travers, made up the popular folk group Peter, Paul & Mary. The trio produced such standard ’60s hits as “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “If I Had a Hammer” and “Puff the Magic Dragon”; much of their music centered around the social issues and concerns of the times, including war, homelessness, the environment, world hunger, apartheid and the Sanctuary Movement. We are honoured to have such an important part of the American folk revival here with us at the festival.

An exclusive evening for 200 people at Georges Vanier Cultural Center in the heart of one of the hottest neighborhoods in Montreal.  Do not miss this concert!
