Vernissage: The Lachine Canal: Past and Present
Paintings and drawings by G. Scott MacLeod
Inspired by the industrial architecture and history of the Lachine Canal, G. Scott MacLeod has produced works for this exhibition. Vestiges of a bygone era, the artist has sensitively captured the buildings as a “living” museum. An old iron bridge becomes a sublime piece of sculpture, while a 75-ton floating crane used to unload goods stands starkly against the sky. The exhibition pays tribute to this industrial era and district that has since gone through the changes that we see today.
